1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sweet milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
5 lg. eggs

Cream butter and Crisco, add sugar 1 cup at the time, add eggs 1 at the time and beat well. Then add milk and flour to mixture, put in well greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Put in cold oven, turn oven on at 300 degrees, cook for 1 1/2 hours. DO NOT open door for it will make cake fall. "One good pound cake."
