FRENCH APPLE DESSERT 
6 c. pared and sliced apples
1/2 c. sugar or more, depending on the tartness of apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. flour

Mix apples, sugar, cinnamon, and two tablespoons flour. Place in a greased nine inch pie plate. Blend together butter, brown sugar, and flour to form crumbs. Sprinkle over top of apples. Bake in hot oven at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 25 to 30 minutes. Makes six to eight servings.
