BORSCH (RUSSIAN BEET SOUP) | |
2 c. sliced beets 2 c. water 2 tbsp. sugar Salt, pepper, cinnamon 3 tbsp. vinegar 4 eggs Sour cream Combine beets, sugar, salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Heat to boiling and simmer for 12 minutes. Add vinegar and heat again to boiling. In each serving dish place one well beaten egg. Add beet liquor, mixing thoroughly. Add beets if desired, and one tablespoon sour cream to each serving. |
