BARBECUE STRATA 
10 slices day old sandwich bread, crusts removed
2 tbsp. butter, softened
1/4 c. barbecue sauce
1 tbsp. sweet pickle relish
3 frankfurters, sliced
2 1/2 c. milk
4 eggs
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
3/4 c. (3 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

Butter 1 side of each slice of bread. Place 6 slices, buttered side down, in a buttered 2 quart shallow baking dish. Combine barbecue sauce and relish; brush 1/2 of the mixture on the bread arranged in the baking dish. Top with sliced frankfurters. Cut remaining 4 slices of bread in quarters diagonally. Brush unbuttered side with remaining barbecue mixture. Arrange bread on frankfurters, barbecue side down. Beat together milk, eggs, salt and mustard. Pour over bread in baking dish.

Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Bake in 325 degree oven 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted near center comes out clean. Sprinkle with cheese, let stand 10 minutes before serving. Serves 6.
