HOOTENANNY FRAPPE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. water
1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed (undiluted)
2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen sliced strawberries (in syrup), thawed
1 (8 oz.) can unsweetened crushed pineapple (undrained)
ginger ale, chilled

Combine sugar and water in a large saucepan; cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in orange juice concentrate, strawberries and pineapple. Pour mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Freeze until firm. To serve, thaw at room temperature. For each serving, spoon 1/2 cup of fruit mixture into a glass. Add 1 cup chilled ginger ale. Stir until slushy; refreeze remainder of fruit mixture. Use as needed.

Yield: 18 servings.
