4 c. flour
1 c. softened butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs

Mix flour, soda and salt together; cream butter slowly. Add sugar and eggs (1 at a time) and mix. Stir in vanilla; add flour mixture. Mix. Cover dough. Chill 1 hour or more. Roll 1/4 inch thick, cut out with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes or until lightly brown.
