OATMEAL COOKIES 
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 c. sour cream
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. chopped dates (or raisins)
1 c. chopped nuts

Sift together first 6 ingredients. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Mix well. Add sour cream and mix thoroughly. Stir in dry ingredients. Add oatmeal, dates or raisins, and nuts. Mix well. Drop by teaspoon onto buttered cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
