TENDER CORN CRISP STEAK 
2 lb. steak of choice, pound well
1 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. hot water

Heat shortening in skillet. Add steak and water and simmer 20 minutes. Remove from skillet and add salt and pepper to taste. Dip each piece in batter and return to hot grease, browning on both sides. Serve hot.

BATTER:

1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. cream style corn
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. grated onion
1 tbsp. minced parsley
A dash of salt & pepper
