HOLIDAY SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream together butter and sugar. Then add extract. Sift flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt and add to mixture. Refrigerate 3 hours. Use seasonal cookie cutters (and roll the dough thin on floured surface). Bake at 375 degrees. Be creative by adding colored candy on top, food coloring or frosting to make them festive.
