BAKED PORK CHOPS | |
4 lean pork chops (thick) 1/4 c. flour 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. dried basil 2 tsp. olive oil 1/2 c. fruit juice (orange or apple) Trim fat off of chops. Combine flour and seasonings in bowl, dredge chops in mixture. Brush skillet with oil. Warm skillet on medium, place chops in and brown on both sides. Place in casserole dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours (possibly a little less time, depending on your stove). When baked, remove and skim visible fat from pan, add fruit juice and continue baking, uncovered until juice bubbles. (Lean chops should contain about 150 calories.) |
