NEVER FAIL CUSTARD PIE 
4 whole eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 pat butter, add to hot milk

Mix well other 4 ingredients in hot milk. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 375°F for 5 minutes, then lower heat to 325°F. Bake 10 minutes longer. Check for doneness with knife. Do not overbake. This is good the next day.
