BABKA (COFFEE CAKE) | |
1/4 lb. butter 1 c. sugar 1/2 pt. sour cream 2 whole eggs 2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla Cream butter and sugar. In separate dish mix eggs and sour cream. Beat vigorously; add vanilla. Then add dry ingredients to butter and sugar, alternating with eggs and cream mixture. Grease pan. Put in half the batter, then a layer of filling. Put remaining batter and place rest of filling on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Use fluted pan or Bundt pan. |
