BAR-B-QUED HAMBURGER MIX | |
1 c. chopped onion 2 tbsp. butter 4 lbs. ground beef 1 (14 oz.) bottle catsup 1 c. water 1/2 c. chopped celery 1/4 c. lemon juice 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vinegar 1/2 tsp. dry mustard Saute onions in butter. Add ground beef, brown lightly. Drain off excess fat. Add rest of ingredients and simmer, covered for 30 minutes. To make 1/2 recipe, use 1/2 cup onion, 2 pounds ground beef and rest of ingredients except 1 teaspoon salt. Yield: 30 to 40 buns. This is flavorful but not too spicy. |
