ANGEL BISCUITS - NO RISING | |
1 pkg. yeast 2 tbsp. lukewarm water 5 c. plain flour 1 tsp. baking soda 3 tsp. baking powder 4 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 c. shortening 1 c. buttermilk Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Add pinch of sugar. Into a bowl, sift flour and other dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk, then yeast mixture and stir until all flour is dampened. Knead until dough is smooth. Roll out to desired thickness and cut. Allow to rest at least 30 minutes. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Dough keeps well in refrigerator. |
