11 egg yolks, beaten very light 1 c. sugar 1 c. cream 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla or 1/4 tsp. crushed cardamon seed About 5 c. flour, to make stiff dough Beat sugar into egg yolks. Mix in other ingredients. Roll out very thin. Cut into rectangles about 1 x 2 inches. Slit in center and pull one end through slit. Fry in hot fat (I like vegetable oil) 370 degrees until golden. Then fry very quickly! Dust with powdered sugar. .SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE FOR CHICKEN OR PORK STIR FRY 1/4 c. water 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/3 c. vinegar 1 c. pineapple juice 1 tbsp. soy sauce 3/4 c. green pepper 1/4 c. chopped onions 1 c. pineapple chunks 3/4 c. thinly sliced carrots Cook first 7 ingredients until thick. Saute the green pepper, onions and carrots in 2 tablespoons vegetable oil about 3-5 minutes. Add pineapple chunks. Stir into cooked mixture. Serve with stir fry chicken or pork, along with rice. |
