POUND CAKE 
2 c. butter
2 2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. half and half

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour bundt pan. Cream butter and 2 cups of the sugar. Add well beaten egg yolks, gradually, beat. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites to which has been added the other 2/3 cup sugar. Pour into bundt pan. bake slowly 1 hour and 25 minutes. Test for doneness. Cool on wooden board before removing cake from bundt.
