CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. shortening OR 1 c. butter
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour (I like to use half self-rising and half all-purpose.)
1/2 tsp. baking power
1 1/4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, shortening, and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients, and add alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour and 25 minutes at 325 degrees. You can bake in sheet cake pan. If you want a super-moist cake, omit the cocoa, and add 1 can of chocolate syrup.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Add a box of powdered sugar. Spread on cake.
