MAY'S CABBAGE 
6 slices bacon
1 med. cabbage, shredded
2 ears corn (cut off) or 1 c. frozen corn
1 lg. onion (sliced)
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c. water

Fry bacon; set aside. In a large pan layer next 5 ingredients. Salt to taste. Pour water over this. Crumble bacon and sprinkle on top. Add 1 tbsp. of the bacon grease. Cover with lid and cook to steaming point; reduce heat and cook until vegetables are tender. About 30 minutes.
