APPLE CRUMBLE 
6 to 8 tart cooking apples
1/2 lemon, squeezed
Little water
Sugar to taste

CRUMBLE:

1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
6 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. sugar

Peel, core and slice the apples. Cook in a covered pan with lemon juice, water and sugar until soft. Put the apples into an ovenproof dish. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Sieve the flour, rub in the butter, then add the sugar. Sprinkle over the top of the apples. Bake in center of oven for 25 to 30 minutes; until crisp and golden brown. Delicious served hot with ice cream.
