G.'S CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 lg. eggs
3 c. plain flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. whole milk & 1/2 c. Carnation milk

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each egg. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk. Put in tube pan and bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

ICING:

1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. Pet milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar and cocoa. Add milk and butter. Cook to a soft ball stage. Remove from stove. Add vanilla and beat until ready to spread.
