BUTTERNUT POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. cake flour
1/2 c. self rising flour
1 c. milk
4 or 5 eggs
2 or 3 tsp. butternut flavoring

Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add eggs beat slowly add 1 cup flour then add milk and flour alternately beat until creamy, add flavoring. Bake in tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour, then 10 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

FROSTING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. butternut flavoring

Have all ingredients at room temperature. Mix cheese, butter, sugar, flavoring then pecans.
