BREAKFAST CASSEROLE | |
6 slices bread, cubed (light to medium toast) Soft butter 1 lb. sausage, cooked and crumbled (drain well) 2 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese 6 eggs, beaten 2 c. whipping cream (not heavy) 1 tsp. each: mustard, salt, pepper Combine and beat well eggs, whipping cream, mustard, salt and pepper. In 1 1/2 quart casserole, spread bread on bottom; dot with butter. Layer sausage on top of bread. Layer cheese on top next. Slowly pour egg mixture on top last (let it seep). Cover, refrigerate at least 8 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes until brown. (Could use ham or bacon). |
