RICE PILAF 
1 c. rice
2 c. water or chicken stock
1/3 c. butter
Salt & pepper to taste

Rinse and drain the rice. Bring stock (or water) and butter to boil; add salt and pepper. When liquid is simmering add rice; stir well with wooden spoon. Reduce heat to very low. Cover and cook for about half an hour. When cooked, add more butter, stir lightly and separate rice grains with a fork.
