CLASSIC LASAGNE | |
1 lb. ground beef 3/4 c. chopped onion 1 lg. can tomatoes 2 cans tomato paste 2 c. water 1 tbsp. parsley 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. oregano 8 oz. lasagne noodles 1 lb. cottage cheese 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, shredded 1 c. Parmesan cheese Brown beef and onion in heavy pan. Add tomatoes (crushed), tomato paste, water, parsley, salt, sugar, garlic powder, pepper and oregano; simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally 30 minutes. Cook lasagne as directed; drain. In 9 x 13 inch pan spread 1 cup sauce. Then alternate layers of lasagne, sauce, cottage cheese, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Cut in squares to serve. Yield: 8 servings. |
