BARBECUED RIBS | |
3 to 4 lb. spareribs 1 c. ketchup 1 c. water 1/4 c. vinegar 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. salt Season ribs with salt and pepper and place in roasting pan with meaty side up. Roast in 425 degree oven for 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake another 30 minutes. Spoon off excess fat. Combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Boil a few minutes. Pour over ribs and continue baking at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until ribs are tender. Turn ribs several times and baste every 15 minutes. If sauce gets too thick add more water. I like to add 1 onion while the ribs are baking. This is optional. |
