MICROWAVE: CREAMY BEEF & SAUSAGE
& POTATO SOUP

Total cooking time: 23 to 33 minutes. 4 servings.

1 med. onion, thinly sliced
1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
1 c. carrots, thinly sliced
1/2 lb. ground beef, crumbled
1/2 lb. bulk pork sausage, crumbled
2 c. hot tap water
1 (16 oz.) can Great Northern beans
1 (10 3/4 oz.) condensed Cream of Potato soup
1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen green cut beans
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves

Combine the onion, celery and carrots in a 3 quart casserole. Cover, microwave at High for 4 to 6 minutes, or until vegetables are tender, add the ground beef and sausage. Microwave at High for 4 to 7 minutes, or until the meat is no longer pink, stirring to break apart once during cooking time. Drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Cover, and microwave at High for 15 to 20 minutes, or until flavors are blended and mixture is hot.

Soup Tips: Prepare soups in large quantities and freeze in individual serving-size portions for later use.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
