BOLOGNA SANDWICH
Buy some ham or bologna (one pack) and some bread (one loaf) and buy a little jar of mustard. Then you make yourself a bologna sandwich. Put the bread down on the table, put the bologna on it. Spread the mustard on the bologna. Put another piece of bread on the bologna, then eat it with some milk. Then clean up.

FRESH Bread. Spread MIRACLE WHIP on inside of each slice and cover each M/W'd side with spicy potato chips, add a slice of balogna (not cooked - that is a totally different option) over chips, choice of cheese and flip them together and hang on to a unique "poor man's BBQ 'samich". ENJOY.

I didn't read through all 14 pages of favorite old and scintillating new ways to make this exquisite of all dishes, but there is one thing missing ... let's see, bologna, check. Soft white Sunbeam bread spread with Miracle Whip, check. Slice of American cheese, Lay's plain potato chips, check. Here's the missing past - you got to reach into that potato chip bag, grab a handful o' chips, open that sandwich back up (bologna side up), and place those chips on top of your sandwich. Replace your top slice of bread, and squish the sandwich down so the chips crumble nicely so as to stay on the sandwich. Enjoy!

Although this was a great sandwich I still prefer my own version of a balony sandwich. My sandwich involves using a very fresh hamburger bun and then placing a slice or 2 of balony on the bottom bun, add BBQ potato chips (I prefer Lays brand) on top of the balony place the other bun on top and smash slightly. MMMMM good. Eat and enjoy. Keep a plate under your sandwich to catch the chip crumbs. :)

I went to the store to buy this "bread" required for the recipe, and was floored by how many brands there are to choose from. Any recommendations?

 C G Deich (Texas) replies:
I prefer fresh white bread. Beef baloney only, preferable Oscar Meyer or Eckrich red rind.
To make a flying saucer go to the deli and have them cut baloney in thick slices and cheddar in not so thick. If you can get round cheese slices it works better. Assemble the sandwich on a large buttered hamburger bun. Alternate layers of baloney and cheese. It kind of looks like a flying saucer, hence the name. Add a glass of cold milk and chips of your choice.
