BEACH SLAW 
1 head cabbage
1 bell pepper
1 med. onion
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. celery seed
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. vinegar
1/4 tsp. dry mustard

Grate or slice the cabbage. Do not mince. Chop the onion and dice the bell pepper. Combine the cabbage, onion and bell pepper in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Sprinkle this mixture with 1/2 cup sugar.

Combine the remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cool for 2 minutes, then pour over ingredients in the bowl. Refrigerate at least 3 hours. Will keep up to 6 weeks in the refrigerator. Serves 6-8.
