APPLES AND RED CABBAGE 
3 med. onions, chopped
3 tbsp. butter
3 lg. apples, chopped
1 sm. head red cabbage, shredded
1/4 c. cider vinegar
2/3 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Saute onions in butter until golden brown. Add apples, cabbage, vinegar, water, salt, sugar and nutmeg. Cover and cook slowly for about 25 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Yield: 6 servings.
