PEA SOUP 
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. chopped onions
1 c. chopped celery and leaves, bite size pieces
3 qt. water
1 (16 oz.) pkg. split peas
Bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
3 med. potatoes, sliced
1 carrot, cut in slivers
2 lg. kielbasa sausage, cut into bite-size pieces

In skillet, melt butter, add onion and celery. Saute until tender. In 5-quart pan, combine water, sauteed onions, celery, celery leaves, peas, bay leaves, salt and pepper. Bring to boil, simmer covered 1 1/2 hours. Add carrots, simmer 1 hour, then add sausage and simmer 30 minutes. Yield: 12-14 servings.
