IRISH SOUR CREAM SCONES 
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 pint dairy sour cream

Sift dry ingredients; cut in shortening with pastry blender. Beat eggs with dairy sour cream; add to other ingredients.

Turn mixture onto lightly floured board and roll out. Cut into diamonds or triangles. Place on greased cookie sheet.

Bake in hot (400°F) oven, 15 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar or brush with egg.
