BAYOU STRING BEANS 
1 lb. bacon, fried soft, cut in pieces
2 tbsp. bacon grease
3 med. onions, chopped fine
3 lbs. string beans, cut & cleaned
1 1/2 tsp. marjoram
6 basil leaves, fresh or 1 tsp. dried
1/8 tsp. thyme
15 new potatoes, cleaned
Salt & pepper to taste
1 1/2 tsp. Vegetable Magic
Water

Cook bacon in deep frying pan until soft. Let bacon drain on plate. Save grease. Use 2 tablespoons bacon grease to saute onions until tender. Add marjoram, basil and thyme, cook for 2 minutes. Add string beans, bacon, new potatoes, salt, pepper and the Vegetable Magic. Stir to mix all ingredients well. Add enough water to just cover and cook on medium heat for approximately 30 to 45 minutes or until beans are tender.
