STUFFED BELL PEPPERS | |
4 green bell peppers 1 lb. ground chuck 1/4 c. finely chopped onion 1 pkg. MJB beef flavored rice 1 qt. spaghetti sauce Grated Parmesan cheese Brown ground meat and onion. Drain all the fat, except 1 tablespoon. Add rice from package and brown lightly. Continue cooking by following directions on rice box. Cut tops off peppers. Wash, remove seeds, and drain. Fill with cooked meat and rice mixture. Put peppers in frying pan with about 1/4 cup water. Bring to boil and reduce heat. Cover and simmer until peppers are fork tender, about 20 to 30 minutes. (While simmering, check water and add a little if needed.) Serves 4. Serve with heated sauce and lots of grated cheese, a tossed salad and French bread. |
