1 c. quick oats
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Pour hot water over oatmeal and butter. Let stand 15 minutes. Mix in sugar, egg, vanilla and dry ingredients. Pour into 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes in 9 x 13 inch pan.

TOPPING:

3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. cream
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. coconut, flaked
1/2 c. nuts

Cook together 3-4 minutes. Spread on hot cake and brown under broiler.
