ITALIAN SOUP 
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 lb. sweet Italian sausage
2 c. onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
7 c. water
7 tsp. instant beef bouillon
1 c. dry red wine
2 tbsp. parsley flakes
1 tsp. dried basil
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
2 lg. zucchini, sliced
1 c. uncooked sm. pasta shells
3/4 c. green pepper, chopped
Parmesan cheese

Brown ground meat and sausage in Dutch oven. Drain in colander. Return to Dutch oven and add onion and garlic. Saute lightly. Add tomatoes, water, bouillon, wine and seasonings. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for at least 1 hour.

Add zucchini, green pepper and uncooked pasta. Bring to a boil again, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until pasta is tender. Serve with Parmesan cheese.

COMMENT: Well worth the effort.
