BAKED SPARERIBS AND SAUERKRAUT 
3 lb. country style ribs
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
32 oz. jar (4 c.) sauerkraut, undrained

SAUCE:

1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
3/4 c. ketchup
3/4 c. water
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 apples, peeled & chopped
1 sm. onion, chopped

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Cut ribs into serving pieces. Place in 9 x 13 inch pan; season with salt and pepper. Bake uncovered at 450 degrees for 20 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees. Remove ribs; drain fat from pan.

In same pan, combine sauerkraut, apples and onion; spread evenly. Arrange ribs on top.

Combine ketchup, water and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over ribs. Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 1 1/2-2 hours. Remove cover for the last 1/2 hour of baking.
