APPLE CRISP 
4 c. apples, peeled or unpeeled, cored and sliced
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 - 1/4 tsp. each nutmeg, mace and allspice
1/4 c. water
2/3 c. melted butter
1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar (brown sugar is best)
3/4 c. rolled oats

Combine first 5 ingredients in 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix last 6 ingredients and sprinkle or spread on top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Great with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.
