BANANA SPLIT PIE 
1 (12 oz.) pkg. vanilla wafers
1 c. butter, softened
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
3 sm. bananas
2 tbsp. orange juice
1 pt. Cool Whip
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3 oz. jar maraschino cherries

Mix crushed wafers with 1/2 cup butter. Press over bottom of 9x13 inch pan. Drain pineapple and combine with cream cheese and 1/4 cup butter. Spread over crust.

Combine remaining 1/4 cup butter, powdered sugar, chocolate chips, and evaporated milk in saucepan. Cook until thick and smooth. Cool. Slice bananas (1/2 inch) and drizzle with juice (this prevents browning!). Arrange on pineapple/cream cheese layer. Top with cooled chocolate sauce. Spread Cool Whip over all. Garnish with cherries and nuts.

Chill thoroughly before serving. Serves 12. If desired, halve this recipe and place in a 9-inch pie plate.
