BLACK WALNUT BARS 
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter or Crisco
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
3 beaten eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. (4 oz.) ground coconut
1 c. black walnuts, chopped

FROSTING:

3/4 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. butter
1/4 c. cream
1 tsp. corn syrup

Sift together flour and salt and set aside. Cream together butter and brown sugar. Mix in eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat well. Gradually add dry ingredients. Add coconut and black walnuts. Put in greased 15x11 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Drizzle with frosting when cool.

FROSTING: Mix brown sugar, butter, cream and syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until soft ball stage (234 degrees) and add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
