COFFEE WALNUT BARS 
2 eggs
1 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. instant coffee
1/2 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. butter, melted

Beat eggs until light and lemon colored. Gradually beat in sugar. Add vanilla. Mix together coffee, flour, and salt. Blend into egg and sugar mixture. Stir in nuts. Blend in melted shortening. Bake in an 8" or 9" greased square pan at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and dust with confectioners' sugar. Cut into squares. 24 servings.
