TJUV POIKAR
1 1/2 pkgs. yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. scalded milk
3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Orange rind, grated
1/4 c. warm water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
5 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. sugar

In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in the warm water. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, salt, and the butter; add scalded milk and stir until the butter is melted. Cool until lukewarm. Add the dissolved yeast and mix well. Add 2 cups of flour; beat until smooth. Beat in eggs. Add the rest of the flour to make a soft dough. Knead on a lightly floured board until smooth and elastic. Cover and let dough rise until double, about 1 hour.

Divide dough into fourths. Shape each 1/4 into a 12 inch roll and cut into 12 pieces; shape each piece into a 7 inch roll. Dip each into melted butter, then sugar, and then into either the nuts or grated orange rind. Fold each in half and twist; pinch the ends together. Place on a greased baking sheet and let rise until double. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 4 dozen rolls.

These are wonderful for a luncheon or dinner. They are called Thief Boys because boys love to steal them.
