1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 lg. egg
1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice

First, take 1/2 cup boiling water and pour over 1 cup raisins. Let stand while mixing the above ingredients.

Stir raisins and water mixture in and mix well. Pour into cupcake papers or can be made as a regular cake. Bake at 350 degrees.
