2/3 c. sugar
4 tbsp. melted butter
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk

Mix well and pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with lemon sauce or whipped cream.

A real old-fashioned cake.
