SHIRLEY GASSER'S BUTTERSCOTCH COOKIES | |
2 c. brown sugar, packed 1 c. butter 2 eggs (or 4 egg yolks) 1 tsp. baking soda 4 c. flour 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. chopped nuts 1 tsp. vanilla Cream shortening and sugar; add well beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients. Using 1 cup of the flour, mix well. Add nuts mixed with the rest of the flour. Add more flour if the dough seems to be too sticky. Knead the dough and form into a long roll or two. Chill thoroughly in refrigerator. Slice and bake at 350 degrees. |
