MARYBELL'S BUTTER FLAKE ROLLS 
1 c. milk, scalded
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1 beaten egg
4 c. flour

Scald milk, add shortening, sugar and salt. Cook to lukewarm, add yeast softened in water. Add egg, gradually beat in flour to form a soft dough. Beat vigorously, cover and let rise in warm place until double bulk. Turn out on lightly floured surface and knead slightly. Make into buns and let rise until double in bulk. Bake at 400 degrees, 20 minutes. Approximately 2 dozen rolls.
