SOFT SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. sour cream
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour

ICING:

1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream sugars and butter. Add sour cream and eggs. Mix well. Add soda, powder, salt and vanilla; mix well. Add flour, mix with a spoon until well blended. Let stand 15 minutes, drop by spoonfuls and smash with glass. Makes 5 dozen. Bake 9 minutes.

Icing: Cream and beat with mixer for 3 minutes. Ice cool cookies.
