SOFT WHITE SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. butter
2 c. white sugar
3 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
About 5 c. flour

Cream shortening, add sugar and eggs and blend well. Add 2 cups flour with the salt and soda and mix. Add vanilla and rest of flour slowly and mix real good. Chill overnight.

Roll out about 1/2 inch thick on floured board and cut with cookie cutter (I use a round one) and spread a little sugar on top. Bake at 370 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
