MEAT/VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
2 c. water
1 can tomatoes
1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 chopped onion
2 tbsp. rice
1 c. celery, chopped
1 bay leaf

Melt butter in heavy saucepan and add meat. Cook, stirring with fork to break up meat, until brown. Add salt and onion and mix well. Cook for 1 minute. Add water, rice and tomatoes. Mix well. Simmer 15 minutes. Add balance and cook until tender. Remove bay leaf.
