CHRISTMAS WALNUT BRITTLE 
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter

Cook sugar, corn syrup, water and salt until boiling. Stir frequently until completely dissolved. Stir in chopped nuts. Cool until small amount dropped in water separates into hard and brittle threads. Remove from heat immediately. Add butter and soda; pour onto cookie sheet and spread. When completely cool break into bite-sized pieces.
