PIZZA BREAD DOUGH | |
1 cake/env. yeast dissolved in 1 tsp. water 1 1/2 tbsp. sugar 2 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shortening (Crisco) 2 c. hot water 7 (scant 7) c. flour Combine sugar, salt, shortening and 2 cups flour. Add yeast mixture. Add 2 cups more flour and hot water; mix well. Keep adding flour (up to 3 cups until dough is elastic but not sticky). Grease bowl with shortening. Mix dough down. Let rise. Punch down again, and form into oiled pans. (2 large cookie tins and 1 pizza pan.) Brush oil on dough. Add toppings. Bake in hot oven (450-500 degrees) for 20 minutes. Lift crust to make sure it's done. |
